Cobricel

Cobricel is a request from the Sant Feliu City Council to cover the existing municipal basketball court. The intervention will not only improve the space for its sporting purpose, but will also turn it into an ideal venue for events, as it will become the town’s first covered outdoor space. The creation of this 1,500-square-metre roof will be used to install up to 250 kWp of solar panels, which will supply energy to several public buildings in the town.

The design of the structure responds to the asymmetric surroundings in which it is located. The main façade, which opens onto a park, is formed by Y-shaped pillars that mimic trees and merge the building with nature; while the opposite façade faces a road and has twice as many pillars to create a separation screen.
